In January, 2015, I entered the world of IPhone photography after a brief four hour course at The Studios of Key West my wife had given me as a last minute Christmas gift. I had taken photos for years, but something about learning I was carrying this powerful camera in my pocket every day clicked with me in a different way. It certainly appealed to my reluctance to invest in a DSLR and multiple lenses.
Our teacher was the fantastic Shirley Drevich (Instagram: @luckyeye). She did a great job teaching Hipstamatic and Snapseed. Later, I invested in additional classes through the IPhone Photography School and learned more from the teaching of Emil Pakarklis. More importantly, I found tremendous encouragement from my classmates and the growing international community working in this form.
Since, I have had photos recognized by various portals on Instagram. I have had photo s accepted for inclusion in the digital portion of Shadow Stories 2 and 3, juried under the auspices of the Mobile Photography Awards.
I have spent the last two years learning and shooting and editing on my IPad. Most of my efforts focus on black and white street photography. I pursue subjects in those unguarded moments where individuals display bits of themselves without regard for surroundings.
